Kerala State Lotteries offers seven weekly lotteries, one per day, and six Bumper Lotteries held throughout the year. The lottery programme was the first of its kind in India, and has been run by the Lottery Department of the Government of Kerala since 1967. The success of the lotto programme has inspired other states to follow the Kerala model.

Kerala lottery draws take place at 3pm on the day of each draw in the department headquarters at Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), the capital of Kerala State.

Kerala Weekly Lotteries

Weekly draws take place at 15.00 IST. Ticket prices range from Rs. 30 - Rs. 50 and each lottery has its own prize structure.

Bumper Lotteries

Six Kerala Bumper Lotteries are held at different times throughout the year, celebrating festivals (Onam, Vishu, Christmas and Pooja) and seasonal events (Monsoon and Summer). Tickets prices for the Bumper Lotteries range from Rs. 100 to Rs. 200 and players can win up to Rs. 10 Crore in prize money.

1. Where can I buy Kerala Lottery tickets?

Players can purchase tickets from over 35,000 registered lottery agents and more than 100,000 retailers. For more information and to find your nearest agent, you should contact your district lottery office.

After you buy a ticket, write your name and address and sign your name on the back. This is how ticket ownership is determined, so don't take a risk of someone else claiming your prize. Keep your ticket in a safe place.

2. Where can I find the latest Kerala Lottery results?

The Kerala lottery results are published the day after each draw has taken place. Results are published in several leading dailies and are also available from lottery agents where tickets have been purchased. For more information, players are advised to check with their local agent or district office.

3. Where can I watch the Kerala Lottery draw?

Draws are held in various locations in the state of Kerala and members of the public are invited to watch the draws at each venue. Information about the venues are available from local lottery agents and through the media.

4. How do I find out if I’ve won a prize?

Check the latest results on this page. Then take your ticket to the nearest lottery agent or retailer and they can confirm if you have won a prize. They shall also be able to confirm the amount of prize winnings due on a winning lottery ticket.

5. How can I claim a Kerala Lottery prize?

Prizes up to Rs. 1 Lac can be redeemed at a District Lottery Office.

Winnings above Rs. 1 Lac must be claimed from the office of the Director of State Lotteries, located in Thiruvananthapuram, or from a bank - details are below. You must sign your name and write your name and address on the back of the winning ticket. You will also need to bring the following documents:

  • Claim application and copy of both sides of the ticket
  • Two passport-sized photos of the winner, confirmed by a Gazetted Officer or Notary
  • A receipt form
  • A guardianship certificate, if the winner is a minor
  • Joint declaration, if there is a joint claim
  • Copy of the PAN card
  • Identity document such as Ration Card, Driving License, Passport, or Election ID card

Prizes may also be claimed via Nationalised, Scheduled or State / District Co-Operative banks. Bring the ticket and the above documents, if required, to the bank. The bank will file the claim with the Director of State Lotteries with the follwing documents:

  • Letter of authorisation from the winner
  • Certificate from the receiving bank
  • Certificate from the collecting bank

6. How long do I have to claim a prize?

Winnings must be claimed within 30 days of the draw date and the ticket holder must provide documents which include a claim application form, two passport photographs and a receipt for the prize money. Players are also advised to sign the back of their ticket and to include an address to prevent others from claiming winnings on their behalf.

7. Do I have to pay tax on Kerala Lottery prize winnings?

For all prize winnings exceeding Rs. 10,000, an income tax of 30% shall be deducted. Claims made by agents are also liable to income tax at a rate of 10%. For more information, players are advised to contact the lottery district office.
